Club

A vision realized

Club History

Opened in April 2014, Le Yacht Club – Beirut quickly established itself as one of the most distinctive private clubs in the Mediterranean region. Located in Mina El Hosn, the Club was envisioned as a refined gathering place for Lebanon’s social, cultural, and business community.

The striking architectural structure of the Club was designed by the renowned American architect Steven Holl, internationally recognized for his ability to blend space and light with strong contextual sensitivity. The building’s design seamlessly integrates modern architectural expression with references to Lebanon’s rich cultural and historical heritage, creating a landmark presence along Beirut’s waterfront.

The Club’s interior architecture was conceived by Nabil Dada’s firm, Dada & Associates, whose design approach brings Lebanon’s longstanding seafaring heritage into a contemporary setting. From the moment members enter the Club, the interiors reflect a harmonious balance between modern design and symbolic elements inspired by the region’s history.

The main entrance welcomes members through a spacious, atrium-like lobby where olive trees, originally planted during the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Lebanon, add a distinctive touch of national symbolism and warmth. Inside, handcrafted references to Phoenician seafaring traditions, including mounted sailing vessels and ancient Phoenician text carvings, are integrated with modern art, crisp architectural lines, and carefully curated lighting to create an atmosphere that is both elegant and culturally resonant.

Time

A Story of Resilience

Shaped by time

From its opening, the Club quickly became synonymous with luxury service, exclusivity and refined hospitality, providing its members with an exceptional lifestyle experience overlooking the Mediterranean.

Over the years, Le Yacht Club – Beirut continued to offer a five-star standard of service, becoming a preferred destination for private gatherings, social events and business meetings. However, like much of Lebanon, the Club faced unprecedented challenges beginning in 2019 during the national economic crisis, followed by the global COVID-19 pandemic and later the devastating Beirut Port explosion in August 2020, which caused significant damage to the Club’s facilities.

Despite these challenges, the spirit and resilience of the Club’s community remained unwavering. The loyalty and continuity of its members played a vital role in making this revival possible. After extensive restoration and careful rebuilding, Le Yacht Club – Beirut proudly reopened its doors in May 2023, reaffirming its commitment to excellence and to the members who form the true heart of the Club.

The Club remains committed to continuous innovation and refinement. Recent upgrades include the reimagined bar lounge, appointed with personalized furnishings by Minotti, alongside the redesigned pool area by Galal Mahmoud, enhancing the Club’s modern and sophisticated ambiance.
